Let us meditate on the Last seven words of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary.

The Second Word:
“I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
(Luke 23:43)

Though we should make every effort to have right theology, and though we should live our lives each day as disciples of Jesus, in the end, our relationship with him comes down to simple trust. “Jesus, remember me,” we cry. And Jesus, embodying the mercy of God, says to us, “You will be with me in paradise.” We are welcome there not because we have right theology, and not because we are living rightly, but because God is merciful and we have put our trust in Jesus.

THE HOUR HAS COME

LENT SPECIAL!!!

Dear People of God,

"The hour has come." –John 12:23

Jesus told His hearers that the hour of His death was approaching. He observed: "I solemnly assure you, unless the grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat. But if it dies, it produces much fruit" (Jn 12:24). The burial of the seed in the soil is not its final end, but a time of transition. The life in the seed "dies," but this death leads to a different life that bears much fruit (Jn 12:24).

The Greek word translated "die" in John 12:24 literally means to "die away." Each day, we must die away from our sins and desires. Even while receiving the Bread of Life, we still focus on dying away (1 Cor 11:26). We die to ourselves (Lk 9:23) and continually "carry about in our bodies the dying of Jesus" (2 Cor 4:10). The more we die away, the more the life of Jesus is revealed in us (2 Cor 4:10).

When Jesus was lifted up on the cross to die, He attracted all to Himself (Jn 12:32). His death gathered many together (Jn 11:51-52). How will it be at your death? For some of you, "the hour" of your death is coming soon (Jn 12:23). Will your death glorify God and attract many to Jesus? You can increase the glory God will receive at your death by daily "dying away" so as to allow His life to overshadow you. Die to yourself daily, lay down your life for Jesus, and prepare to bear an attractive and attracting harvest for the glory of God.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are holy and righteous. I give you all honour and glory. I submit myself in obedience to You. I thirst for your righteousness. Fill me with your Spirit. Help me to separate myself from all worldly things. Lead me to holiness through your grace. Perform great and mighty acts in my life.

HRUDAYA SPANDANA (W4)

STRENGTH UPON STRENGTH

Blessed are those whose strength is in you (Psalm 84:5)

Dear People of God,

Dearly beloved, our Lord is strong and mighty to save. The Bible states, “They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion” (Psalm 84:7).

Josiah was eight years old when he became the king of Judah. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and walked in all the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left (II Kings 22:1,2).

Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the LORD as he did--with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses (II Kings 23:25). This kind of life is a divine life which makes us get strengthened in Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible says, “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet” (Romans 16:20). We will be able to crush him when we are filled with the strength of God. It is the Holy Spirit who strengthens us and helps us to lead victorious lives in this world.

Even Esther faced a great tempest in her life. She too sought the face of God through fasting and prayer (Esther 4:16). The Scripture says, “Blessed are those whose strength is in you” (Psalm 84:5). The strength granted by God is not an ordinary strength. It is divine strength. When we cling onto God and place our entire trust upon Him, we will receive this divine strength.

Those who lead godly and devout lives will receive this kind of divine strength and they will be able to lead victorious lives on this earth. No devil can ever touch them. They can overcome all the power of their enemy and nothing will harm them (Luke 10:19). No weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). They will also receive strength upon strength and appear in the presence of God in Zion.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are strong and mighty to save. I take refuge in You. I do not have the strength to overcome my problem. You are the Lord who gives power to the weak. I pray for your divine strength. Strengthen me through the power of your Spirit. Keep me safe and secure. Fight my battle and lead me to victory. I give You all glory.

Dear People of God,

Let us meditate on the Last seven Words of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary.

PART - 1

The First Word:
“Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they’re doing.”
(Luke 23:34)

As we read the words, “Father, forgive them,” may we understand that we too are forgiven through Christ. As John writes in his first letter, “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness” (1 John 1:9). Because Christ died on the cross for us, we are cleansed from all wickedness, from every last sin. We are united with God the Father as his beloved children. We are free to approach his throne of grace with our needs and concerns. God “has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west” (Ps 103:13). What great news!

THE LORD WILL GUIDE YOU

The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. (Isaiah 58:11)

Dear People of God,

The Scripture promises, “The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail” (Isaiah 58:11).

The above verse is a wonderful promise given to His children by God. He will indeed give what is good (Psalm 85:12). ).

The Bible says, “The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing” (Psalm 34:10).

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

In the Bible we see Boaz telling Ruth, “May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge” (Ruth 2:12).

Probably, you have been humiliated and rejected by this world. But the Lord tells you, “My child, this world may have forsaken you. But I will be your refuge all the time. I will guide you continually. I will shower My blessings upon you.”

In the Old Testament, there is an incident recorded about Jonathan’s attack on the Philistines. Since they were very strong, he told his young armor – bearer, "Come, let's go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised fellows. Perhaps the LORD will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few" (I Samuel 14:6).

GOD is our Source, GOD is our Strength, GOD is our Shield.

Do not worry, God will Guide you.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

I believe in your promises and claim them. Bless me abundantly. Satisfy me with good things. May your presence be with me always. Remove all my sorrows. May your presence go before me and protect me. Be my refuge and guide me continually. Fight the battle for me and deliver me. I give You all honour, glory and praise.
